Lubricants

What they are, classification, types and general operation

These are special liquids that must be placed between two pieces of machinery that come into contact with each other. Thanks to the lubricant, the high friction of the parts when moving is avoided, which reduces wear and tear and prevents impurities from deterioration from fouling the working system.

These substances are generally made of oils and additives, they are usually thick and their viscosity may vary according to their application. There is a great variety of lubricants, each one with its own characteristics and particularities, thus providing all their effectiveness to improve the performance of the system or machinery where they are applied.

What are Industrial Lubricants?

Industrial lubricants are greasy substances and liquids that are used in various equipment to improve their performance and extend their useful life.

These lubricants include synthetics, emulsions, petroleum or mineral oils, and are widely used in the industrial sector, especially in aerospace, automotive, military and marine services.

Lubricants are a mixture of carefully combined components, base oil and additives, which determine a certain behavior when in use, both in terms of performance and service life. They are mainly used to reduce wear of materials and at the same time reduce friction, in some situations they are used to prevent or reduce electrical resistivity when the thermal condition increases.

Due to their properties, lubricants are ideal for preventing corrosion of surfaces, whether internal or external.
